These warm waters, rich in beneficial minerals, have been famous since Roman times for their healing properties. They help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and soothe rheumatic pain.
According to an ancient legend, these waters were a gift from nature and were even believed to enhance fertility. Today, immersing yourself in the thermal pools is a moment of pure bliss, surrounded by the warmth of the water and the beauty of the landscape.

Our Story
The story of Hotel and Ristorante Da Maria dates back to 1903, when Ciro, great-grandfather of today’s owners, returned from Australia and bought land overlooking Cartaromana Bay. Initially intended for wine production, thanks to the vines planted by Ciro, this land quickly became the heart of a long family tradition.
In 1920, Francesco’s wife (Francesco being one of Ciro’s sons) began cooking for the vineyard workers and the first visitors passing through. Her simple, genuine dishes won everyone over, and La Grotta del Saraceno Da Maria was born—the family’s first restaurant.
In 1939, Giovanni, Ciro’s son, and his wife Maria, expanded the restaurant and gave it its current name: Da Maria.
In the 1960s, after the affection and requests from loyal guests, Giovanni and Maria added a small hotel to the restaurant, offering a complete hospitality experience right on the beach.
Management then passed to their sons, Ciro and Aldo, and Ciro’s wife, Maria. Thanks to their dedication, Da Maria continued to grow, becoming the magical place that still enchants visitors today.
Today, the fifth generation—together with mamma Maria—carries on this century-old tradition, welcoming guests with warmth, passion, and the authentic flavors of home.

At Hotel Da Maria, respect for the environment is part of our philosophy. For us, protecting the sea and the surrounding nature is a mission we’ve pursued since the 1980s, when we installed one of Ischia’s first private water treatment plants.
In 2006, we became even more sustainable, adding the island’s first evapotranspiration system—a natural process where treated water is absorbed by plants and released into the atmosphere, avoiding any harmful discharge into the sea or the ground.
